You can also get unlimited access to all the Porsche service manuals for a yearly $5,200 subscription. The manuals are very complete and quite good. I purchased a copy of 'Porsche 996 - The Essential Companion' from Amazon dot com. It isn't quite as complete as the Porsche Shop Manuals or even the Boxster's Bentley Service Manual when it comes to heavy duty work on the car.

But it has great explanations on how the systems on the cars work, extensive trouble shooting information - including codes - and a section that will cover most if not all normal servicing requirements.
